Kitchen Support

The Kitchen Support staff support all aspects of the meal service and ensures the cleanliness of the common areas. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain all kitchen areas of facilities as per cleaning schedules. This will include: heavy equipment (hood and oven vents), dining area, floors, dish and cookware, and all areas of back of house operation. 
  • Stock and replenish food service items such as cutlery, dishes, glasses, cups, and condiments during and after all meal periods.
  • Assist the First Cook with the unloading and storage of all supplies and groceries. 

Qualifications:

  • Large scale camp work experience is an asset.
  • Current Food Safe certification an asset.
  • Current First Aid Level 1 Certification an asset.

Physical Demands:

Kitchen Support staff are required to perform a variety of physical duties, including:

  • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. 
  • Climb ladders or stairs.
  • Stand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended lengths of time.
  • Perform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands.
  • Work with arms above shoulder height.

Work Schedule and Remuneration:

Kitchen Support staff work on a rotational schedule. They may be expected to work weekdays, weekends, and general holidays. 

Specific pay details are discussed at the interview phase.

Manitoba Hydro's Keewatinohk Camp is Officially Open!

This past Wednesday September 16th marked the Grand Opening for Manitoba Hydro’s Keewatinohk Camp! This camp is located 90 km NE of Gillam, Manitoba and will house roughly 600 working men and women for years to come. FNNRYEP Closing Ceremonies 2015 - Welcome Carillion Canada!

Quetico Provincial Park’s Teaching Lodge proved to be the perfect location for the 16th annual Closing Ceremonies. The location reinforced the strengthening partnership between FNNRYEP, Ontario Parks, MAA, MNRF, MNDM and First Nations. 16th Annual FNNRYEP Closing Ceremonies

Outland Camps has been delivering the First Nations Natural Resources Youth Employment Program for 16 summers since its inception in 2000. Over the years 375 youth hailing from 50 northern Ontario First Nations Communities have been employed by Outland in this unique work experience/training/life skill building opportunity. Outland works closely with the Ontario Government through MNR, MNDM, MAA and Ontario Parks along with First Nations, Education and Industry/Commercial partners in order to make it all happen each year. Lalita Krishna from INSYNC Media spent time in Northern Ontario, with Outland Camps, to document the unfolding of the 2015 First Nations Natural Resources Youth Employment Program and the new Mink Lake First Nations Youth Employment Program.
