In 2010 Outland will be celebrating its 25th anniversary as a supplier of forestry services to Canada's forest products industry. Since its inception in 1985 as a tree planting company, Outland has grown into one of Canada's largest silviculture contractors employing bush workers in BC, AB, Sask, Man, ON and Que.

In 1997 Outland Reforestation was awarded its first contract with Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources to provide Type 2 Forest Fire Fighters. As Ontario's largest provider of Type 2 Fire Crews, Outland has provided employment to hundreds of Fire Fighters across Ontario.  Outland hires Fire Fighters from across Ontario, with an emphasis on First Nations communities.

Outland has been supplying the government of Alberta with fire fighting crews since 1999.  Each year we supply full time crews from mid-April until early September.  Again, Outland emphasizes the hiring of members of the local First Nations to fill these crews.
