Outland Hosts Christmas Luncheon for Heart Lake First NationJanuary 2015
Over the recent Holiday Season, Outland had the opportunity to host a Christmas luncheon for the members of the Heart Lake First Nation in support of their Annual Children’s Christmas Concert.
The menu, carefully prepared by Outland Chefs, Bob Bedard and Rob Gibbs, was a bountiful traditional Christmas meal including roasted turkey, carved ham, all the trimmings and a dessert selection buffet. About 250 guests from the Heart Lake First Nation were in attendance and were thoroughly impressed by the food and presentation. After lunch, a large cookie decorating area was set up where Outland Pastry Chef Subhash Sharma decorated gingerbread cookies with the younger guest, much to their delight and enjoyment. The membership of the First Nation expressed many heartfelt thanks for the tireless effort of the Outland staff which made the luncheon possible.
The Heart Lake First Nation is located near Lac La Biche, Alberta. Outland has recently partnered with this First Nation community to provide catering and housekeeping services for a new project for Canadian Natural Resources Ltd., whose representatives were also among the guests.
"This partnership will provide meaningful work and business opportunities to the Heart Lake First Nation and its members, as well as helping fund important community projects. We look forward to working with Outland Camps." – Chief Morris Monias – Heart Lake First Nation
